We're delighted to have been asked to provide a proposal to establish a beautiful brand look and a suite of marketing media for SK Energy.
Thank you too for such an open, useful session with all of you — this draft is built directly from it, and we think it's much stronger for it.
SK Energy already has MCS certification, TrustMark endorsement and 120 installations delivered — plus something very few renewable energy providers can genuinely claim: a close, architecture-led relationship with the SKAD name, sustainability considered from the drawing board rather than bolted on. Right now, it's one of the best-kept secrets in your marketing.
The challenge is giving that substance a presence that matches the ambition — a genuine run at £5 million within three years — across three very different audiences: developers first and foremost, then commercial, then residential. Everything here is aimed squarely at that.
One consistent, more professional presence — website, social and every document looking like the £5m business you're becoming.
A new site built around three audiences — Developers (~80% of business), Commercial (~10%, largely untapped) and Residential (~10%, the most competitive).
A real social strategy on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn — LinkedIn carrying developer/commercial, Facebook and Instagram doing the heavy lifting for residential.
Professional templates for proposals, documents and trade-show materials.
One refined identity — architecture-led, high-end, trustworthy — building on the current wordmark and the olive-and-black direction already explored.
SEO designed in from the outset, including a check on whether current hosting is blocking AI search crawlers.
A budget of £10,000–£15,000, exclusive of VAT, with Stuart's buy-in already secured.
This isn't the creative yet — that comes properly once the brief is signed off — but it's where we think the value in this project really sits.
The SKAD relationship deserves real space right through the site — the single most compelling reason a developer chooses SK Energy. Copy needs to say “architecture-led”, never “architects”, to stay the right side of ARB rules.
Developers built around Octopus Zero Bills and bundled services; Commercial around EPC-C deadlines and the One Funding partnership; Residential around cost, proof and removing objections upfront.
Abbotsford (commercial) and the Dunfermline solar-battery-EV job (3-year payback, 18% ROI on Intelligent Octopus Go) are strong, ready-made proof points. Fresh photography and drone footage at Abbotsford should be an early priority.
A genuine push for Trustpilot reviews, alongside permission to use developer client logos (Ambassador Homes, Lockie Holmes), will do as much for trust as the design itself.
3–5 fresh brand concepts — not a tidy-up — get you one considered mark used everywhere, signage to social, rather than several things doing slightly different jobs.
A build on a modern, SEO-friendly editor means a faster site and much quicker ongoing changes — useful given how much regulatory content (Future Homes Standard, Passive House, EPC-C) is coming.
Design refreshes usually come unstuck for one of three reasons: a single design route that feels railroaded, work starting before anyone agreed what “good” looks like, or scope quietly changing after sign-off. Our process is built to eliminate all three — with SEO research running quietly in the background throughout.
Testing · final review · go live
Once you're live, we can keep building momentum:
3–5 brand and logo concepts before anything is built — never one option as a fait accompli.
Nothing is built until you've signed off the brand, then the design direction.
The price is agreed and fixed before we start, against a written scope of work.
Refinement of your chosen brand and website design is included, not charged as an extra.
One senior point of contact, first meeting to final handover.
Every piece of media — web, social, print — from the same agreed design style.
SEO work based on real search data, not guesswork — you'll see the research.
You own everything: artwork, source files, design assets and the site itself.
Mark and the team at Reddishpink are great to work with. Inventive and creative with a firm eye on deadlines and cost. I rate them 10/10.
Derek Boyd, CEO, National Microelectronics InstituteHere's what that means in practice, and what we'd hold both the brand concepts and the website design against.
Bold, high-impact imagery and pull-quotes. Solar installations, developer schemes and the architecture-led SKAD story are visually strong material — it deserves to be used properly.
Sections clearly signposted, visible on every page, with cross-links between the three audience routes wherever it helps.
Built to work beautifully on desktop, tablet and phone — designed to work at each size, not merely shrunk to fit.
The olive-and-charcoal, architecture-and-leaf direction you've explored is a strong asset — there's a lot more we can do with it once agreed.
Every enquiry is a good enquiry — getting in touch should feel like the obvious next step, not a hunt for a form.
The most persuasive thing on any trade website is evidence of work done well — a proper case study format from the outset, quick to add to.
Speed matters for people and Google. Efficient builds, optimised assets, tested before go-live.
“Design is more about what your audience thinks than what any of us thinks.”
Since organic growth — particularly among developers and commercial clients — is one of the goals, search is designed in from the very beginning using Moz Pro and Google UK desktop/mobile data.
Terms Google already considers you relevant for — progress from clearer titles, headings and internal linking.
1–3 monthsTerms just outside page one, closely matched to real services and projects. Needs depth and structure.
3–6 monthsHigh-volume, competitive searches that reward sustained authority as Tiers 1 & 2 take effect.
6–12 months+Two frank notes: SEO is a long-term strategy, not a quick fix — consistency matters more than intensity. And a new site gives a strong foundation, but it's the ongoing activity that compounds, which is exactly why there's an optional monthly programme in the investment section below.
Full design and build on a modern, SEO-friendly, non-proprietary platform — WordPress vs. headless confirmed during Discovery. Three landing routes (Developers, Commercial, Residential), each built for a genuinely different buyer, plus a dedicated partnerships section (Octopus, One Funding, True, Scottish Land & Estates).
A genuinely new core identity, not a tidy-up — 3–5 distinct concepts, informed by the current wordmark, business card icon and olive-and-black direction. You'll choose a favourite together, refined until it's exactly right.
Professional profile setup or refresh across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, aligned to the new identity and using the new graphic templates.
Copy written and supplied by SK Energy, then refined, tidied and sub-edited by Reddishpink, with keyword strategy embedded without losing technical accuracy.

Campbell and DeanDuring our 23 years we've built hundreds of websites and designed a vast amount of print and digital media for organisations of every size, including a good number in energy and construction.
If only more companies were like Reddishpink.
Brian Gordon, Welgo Office EquipmentWe're very happy to supply client contact details for references, or to show you more examples of brand and web work if it would be useful.
We don't anticipate significant issues, but it's important to name the risks honestly and plan around them.
New requirements have a habit of appearing once a project is underway. How we manage it: scope defined in writing during Discovery; additional work is always possible, simply quoted separately so there are no surprises.
The most common cause of delay on projects where the client writes the copy. How we manage it: a content schedule agreed page-by-page during Discovery, with templates, word counts and keyword guidance — or we can write it for you.
Supplied photography sometimes proves lower resolution than the design needs. How we manage it: we audit the library during Discovery and flag gaps early — no surprises halfway through the build.
We're a small, highly experienced team, not immune to illness or emergencies. How we manage it: natural buffer built into the timeline, plus a trusted network of freelance developers and designers who can step in.
Frameworks and plugins can fall out of support over time. How we manage it: only actively maintained, high-quality frameworks, with in-house capability to replace functionality without disruption.
Subject to agreement of the final specification. Comfortably within the £10,000–£15,000 David mentioned, exclusive of VAT throughout, and assuming first draft written content is supplied by SK Energy.

Core pages: Homepage, Developers, Commercial, Residential, About Us, Partnerships, Contact.
Service pages: Solar PV, Battery Storage, Air Source Heat Pumps, EV Charging, Aftercare & Maintenance.
Underfloor heating and radiator installation also came up — the plumbers already on-site for a heat pump job picking up extra work. There are a few ways this could sit in the page plan: folded into the Heat Pumps page, given its own "Additional Services" page, or flagged with a lighter "while we're with you, we can also..." line. We'll settle the right approach together during Discovery.
Content & utility pages: Case studies index + template, Blog/insights index + template, Testimonials/reviews, Privacy/cookies/terms.
Anything beyond this list — a fourth audience route, a sixth service page, additional case studies or templates — is easy to add, and always quoted separately.
We're genuinely excited about the SKAD relationship, the Octopus Zero Bills opportunity and the EPC-C story ahead — that's a strong hand to play, and we'd love to be the ones telling it.
David to share SKAD's brand guidelines, draft USPs per audience, and logo permissions for Ambassador Homes and Lockie Holmes.
A first push on testimonials and Trustpilot reviews, and a date in the diary for photography at Abbotsford.
Confirmation from Stuart on VAT treatment and whether the ongoing SEO/content programme sits inside or outside the core budget.
We turn this into a final, costed proposal and scope of work for formal sign-off.
Many thanks again for the opportunity to work with SK Energy. We're confident we can do a fabulous job and help you into the next stage of your evolution — and if we're successful with this proposal, we can get started very quickly.
